My Faithful Father
In June of 2006, I wrote this post about my daughter recommitting her life to Christ. I shared how I had prayed for two straight years, blessing her everyday as she walked out the door to go to school, and then asking God to ignite a flaming fire in her heart for him as she headed down the sidewalk.
When I wrote this post, I thought God had answered my prayers. I couldn't imagine that he'd only just begun. Over the last year, I've watched her bloom and grow in her faith, and finally settle at a church that she now calls "her church." She's found her place.
This past Sunday I had the privilege of seeing my daughter baptized. She felt the call of the Holy Spirit on her heart and knew it was time. I watched this bright and wonderful 18 year old proudly profess her faith, bold and full of excitement.
As I watched her, I could only thank God for what he's done, and what he's brought us through. He first taught me about his faithfulness while we were living in Switzerland, and my precious daughter was at the heart of one of the most intense trials I ever gone through. To come full circle, to witness this day, I'm filled with awe at how God has shown me an even greater height to his faithfulness. He not only answered my prayer, he surpassed it. I remember the moments I despaired for her future and now—now she is safe and secure in God's hand, ready to embark on the path he's set in place only for her.
God is so awesome. This moment is now my greatest testimony to his faithfulness. Now I wait for another moment I know will be even greater than this one.
Praying and believing,
Dineen

That is wonderful. It sheds a new light on faith. I pray that I am faithful, but I rarely give thought to His faithfulness to us, even when we hurt Him.
Thanks for sharing.
Hugs!

God is indeed faithful. At a time when so many young people are leaving the church, your daughter boldly declared her faith.
Robin share a thought this morning that fits here, Dineen: The grace of God will not lead you where the grace of God will not keep you.
He walks us through and turns our sorrows into joy.
Delighting and praising God with you, D.

Oh Dineen,
I have tears in my eyes.
He not only answered my prayer, he surpassed it. Amen, my Sister, Amen
Praising our Great Lord for His faithfulness.

Dear Dineen,
Thank you for sharing your heart. What an encouragement your openness has brought to me. God's grace is so evident. He has called your daughter and she bodly answers Him with her life. What a blessing it is to witness someone you love so dearly to step forward on her own to profess her love and obedience to Jesus' call.

Oh, girl! that's just too awesome. I'm so thrilled for you--and for Rachel. Man, that girl sure makes her momma proud, eh? :-D
Love ya!

Wow. WOW! What an encouraging and beautiful reminder that God is indeed faithful and loves our children more than we can even comprehend. Loves us too and carries us through those dark times that seem unending...then He shows us such moments of pure light.

Dineen,
My heart beams for you. I'm so happy your daughter was baptized. The angels rejoice! I anticipate hearing how God will move through her more powerfully each day. That and salvation are some of the things I long for in my daughter. I wanted to tell you the other night I was praying for my daughter while she was sleeping and felt like I was bearing down to push (almost like giving birth to something in the spirit) while I prayed. I thought you would like to know since you liked my pregnant-with-my-dreams quote.
